It does however, give idiots a reason (if they need one at all) to act like, well, idiots. The logic being that, if they do a ‘cool’ video, they will get a video that goes viral.
Take this braniac in Bolivia. Yungus Road in Bolivia is known as the world’s deadliest road, prompting thousands of daredevils to tackle it each year. While most manage to stick to the road itself, this brave chap decided to deliberately career off the edge. Our friend decided to do a base jump on a bike.
The jumper cycled off the ramp he had set up some 4,650 feet above the ground.
The clip shows him approaching the edge of the road as planned, but as soon as he’s left the ramp things start going wrong and he was soon free-falling towards the forest below.
Despite the mishap, the jumper managed to survive his fall with only minor injuries.
Thanks to his desire to be an internet sensation we get to see this disaster as it happened. Below is the video of his escapade. Go to 1.57 to see the near tragedy unfold.
He also filmed it on a helmet cam, so here is the video from his perspective.
Obviously We are glad he survived, even if, with an act of such stupidity, he probably didn’t deserve to!
Since then, he has specialised in articles on the battle for equal rights for sex workers, sexual health, as well as bringing the readers fun news from around the world. He also has a major interest in LGBT rights, and is an active campaigner in this field.
When he isn't fighting the good fight, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, and young daughter. He also enjoys reading and taking long walks.
