She claims that her new vibrator \u2018broke her vagina\u2019, and is now sharing her experience to warn women everywhere about the possible dangers.<\/p>\n
After getting a divorce, she decided to get some help for her sexual urges, and bought a rabbit vibrator. It is then that the fun, and the problems began.<\/p>\n
“It had been a long time since I’d had sex,” the 34-year-old said. “But I wasn’t entirely ready to be intimate with someone new, so after some research online I decided to purchase a vibrator.<\/p>\n
“It was quite odd looking back, that I was running a women’s website , providing women with sex-positive advice and information on using vibrators when I had yet to try one myself.”<\/p>\n
\u201cI became obsessed with using it and the ease and speed at which it allowed me to feel pleasure again after months in a sexless marriage.
\n\u201cIt was incredibly liberating and empowering to really take control of my sexuality in that way for the first time in my adult life.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, it is here that it went wrong.<\/p>\n
She explained: \u201cAfter a couple of weeks of using my new adult plaything, I started experiencing some pelvic pain and was hobbling around the office.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot making the connection, I went to the doctor to find out what was wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n
When all her STI\u2019s tests came back negative that she realised where the problem came from.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe doctor started asking some questions and that\u2019s when I realised the pain had been the result of me over-using my vibrator! It was equal parts embarrassing and hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n
It transpired that upon buying her vibrator, she had used it six times a day for the first week, all this on the most powerful setting. It seems her vagina just wasn\u2019t ready for that kind of pounding.<\/p>\n
The doc told her to give it a rest and let her vagina recover. Now she has words of warning for other women in her position.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe main thing to keep in mind when trying something new is to start out slow – I learnt the lesson the hard way not to use the turbo setting on your first go, and not to get too carried away!\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite this, she hasn\u2019t been put off sex toys in the slightest.<\/p>\n
\u201cSex toys are a great way to explore new fantasies and sensations, both on your own and with a partner, and provided you buy from a reputable retailer like I did, they\u2019re really safe,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
To be fair, this is pretty good advice. No-one ever talks about \u2018breaking themselves in\u2019. Instead, it is only the fun bits which are discussed. The fact that the vagina may not be used to this kind of action is never mentioned.<\/p>\n
